Vesti Voronezh: Anniversary year at the Khrenovsky Stud Farm!
This autumn marks 250 years since the founding of the Khrenovsky Stud Farm, where the unique Orlov trotter breed of horse was developed. The stud farm is located in the Voronezh region — a key region for Prodimex Group. It is very important that one of the oldest stud-bred horse breeds in Russia, with which the formation of all domestic horse breeding began, is preserved and developed.
At the farm, the trotters are brought to the best condition. Orlov horses are bought mostly for equestrian sport — they are in great demand.
Next to the farm there are equally unique architectural monuments of the
18th and
19th centuries. After planned repairs, tourists are expected to be housed in one of them. The second building is the “Manager’s House”, which has been a museum since the middle of the last century. There visitors are told about the rich past of the Orlov breed.
The riding school nearby — the oldest place in the country where people are taught to work with horses — also wants to mark the celebration in style. A new building for tourism specialists is being made out of an old granary. Repairs are in full swing and must be finished in time for the anniversary. At it, novice riders will show their talents.
The prospects for reviving Russian horse breeding, including stud farming, are being discussed at the state level, since this is important breeding work to preserve the breeds developed in our country, of which we are rightly proud.
In addition, repair and restoration of the entire complex will give an impetus to the development of agritourism, which is gaining more and more popularity in the country.
