RBC: Success despite the elements

Voronezh farmers harvested 6.2 million tonnes of grain in 2025, almost 1.6 times more than the 2024 harvest. The region also harvested 5.5 million tonnes of sugar beet, which is 0.5 million tonnes more than the previous year’s harvest.

Regional governor Alexander Gusev recalled that in 2025 agriculture in the Voronezh region had to face emergencies twice. In May, about 38 thousand hectares of crops were lost to frosts, and in July hail damaged another 10 thousand hectares.

Deputy CEO of Prodimex Group Vadim Eryzhensky describes the agricultural sector as a “workshop under the open sky”, since the industry depends directly on the conditions the weather puts farmers in. “In the last few years nature has subjected us to serious tests: in a number of key commodity-producing regions there were droughts and recurrent frosts that created significant difficulties. We have learned to work effectively both in conditions of recurrent frosts and in periods of drought. Autumn mud season does not worry us either. In general, we have mastered technologies for working in any weather conditions. The current climate challenges certainly do not add enthusiasm, but they do not frighten us either,” Eryzhensky noted.
