Prodimex demonstrated the efficient operation of its plant in the Kursk region

February 12
The Zolotukhinsky branch of the Kurskssakharprom plant, part of Prodimex Group, welcomed guests. The enterprise was visited by First Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Government of the Kursk Region Alexander Chepik with his team. The company’s division in the Zolotukhinsky district is a large agricultural enterprise employing 570 people.

The guests were shown the territory of the remote beet receiving point, the production site and the plant laboratory. The sugar-making season ended here just recently. From August to January, 1.4 million tonnes of own-grown sugar beet were accepted for processing and 196 thousand tonnes of sugar were produced — about a third of sugar output in the Kursk region.

As the plant’s General Director Oleg Smirnov reported, thanks to large investments the plant’s sugar beet processing capacity was increased from 6 to 9 thousand tonnes per day.

And in 2024 the Zolotukhinsky branch of the plant became a leader — it produced a regional record volume of sugar, 214 thousand tonnes. This figure allowed the enterprise to take first place in sugar production among all plants in Russia.

“Enterprises that process sugar beet are extremely important for the agro-industrial complex. This is not just a successful business process but a whole sphere of life in the Kursk region. I want to thank the owners of the enterprise for the work they are doing, for the investments they attract and for the large number of jobs created. I am sure our joint work on projects will continue,” said Alexander Chepik.
