Prodimex supports young scientists

April 23
Prodimex Group specialists support schoolchildren who are interested in science and plan to build a career in agribusiness. For example, seventh-graders from Moscow School No. 1748 are once again preparing to take part in the “Open World. Start in Science” scientific and technical competition organized by the Timiryazev Academy — and are gaining invaluable experience right in the fields.

“Open World. Start in Science” is not only a competition but also an important platform for exchanging knowledge, developing project thinking and immersing oneself in the world of big science. The contestants’ work is evaluated by leading scientists of RGAU-MSHA.

This is not the first time the children have taken part in the competition, and their research always receives high marks from the experts. In previous years they presented research based on the results of their practical experiments on Prodimex Group fields in the Penza and Kursk regions.

This year, during the spring break, the children set up experiments on growing crops on rainfed land and under irrigation at Prodimex farms, visited the Stavropolsakhar plant in Stavropol Krai, and also studied sugar beet growing technology on the fields of the Group’s Krasnodar agricultural enterprises.

The “Open World. Start in Science” scientific and technical competition for students is held in the following areas: “Biology”, “Biotechnology, Genetics and Breeding”, “Engineering Sciences”, “Innovative Technologies in Agronomy”, “Computer Science and Information Technology”, “Landscape Design”, “Environment, Ecology, Agroecology”, “Fundamentals of Animal Husbandry”, “Fundamentals of Horticulture and Vegetable Growing”, “Chemistry, Agrochemistry, Soil Science”, “People and Society”, “Economics” and “Food Technology”. Scientific, research, applied and creative works in line with the adopted areas take part in the competition. The subject of a single work may cover the entire range of questions relating to these sciences.

The schoolchildren sincerely thank the general directors of the Uspensky Sakharnik and Stavropolsakhar plants, Sergey Shatokhin and Igor Mishunin, as well as their mentors — Nikolay Sklyarov, Alexander Strashko and Andrey Kulikov — for new knowledge and support in their research work.

We wish the young scientists victory in the competition!
