Prodimex agricultural enterprises have completed the sowing campaign
July 2
Despite the whims of nature, Prodimex Group specialists demonstrated a high level of professionalism and successfully completed the sowing campaign. Farmers managed to adapt quickly to the unstable and sometimes anomalous conditions of the past spring and to ensure fairly compact sowing times.
At Prodimex farms in Krasnodar Krai, sowing took place at the usual times for the crops. Additional trouble for the agricultural enterprises in the region came from torrential rains, which partially washed out beet and soybean crops. Beets are now in the stage of 8-10 pairs of true leaves. The agricultural enterprises have carried out top-dressing, herbicide treatments, and inter-row cultivation of soybeans and sugar beet.
At the Group’s agricultural enterprises in Stavropol Krai, sowing took place at optimal times. According to specialists, most crops are currently developing better than in the previous season.
At Prodimex Group farms in Bashkortostan, sowing times corresponded to the long-standing practice of running the sowing campaign. This season the temperature in May stayed fairly high, up to 32°, and there was no precipitation. The farms had to increase the seeding depth for some crops, such as peas and sunflower, because of dry soil. Rain now falls regularly in the region, and farmers rate crop development as satisfactory. Winter crops are somewhat behind, also because of the dry weather in May.
Spring crop sowing turned out to be difficult for Prodimex Group farms in the Penza region. During the sowing period — which is 45 days — more than 100 mm of precipitation fell, which affected the pace of sowing. Almost the whole of May was cold, which also inevitably affected the growth and development of crops.
The Group’s agricultural enterprises experienced difficulties because of excess precipitation during sugar beet sowing, which began in early May. This year the sowing campaign was longer than average, so plantings of the strategic crop are at different stages of development. Despite persistent waterlogging of the soil, the farms fully control the situation with fertilizer and crop protection applications.
Spring wheat sowing was also extended by weather anomalies. The crop is now in good condition, with enough moisture and nutrients, and all treatments are on schedule.
The vast majority of key crops in the planned acreage structure were sown in full by Prodimex agricultural enterprises in the Voronezh region. The extended sowing period this year turned out to be the main tactical advantage. The enterprises managed to avoid the risk of recurrent frosts completely and protect the strategic crop — sugar beet. This season, unlike last, not a single hectare of beet was lost to frost.
The agronomic service specialists carry out continuous monitoring of the condition of the fields, identifying any threats to plants in good time. Herbicide weeding is under way successfully on soybean and spring grain fields, and the important fungicide treatment of winter wheat has already been completed.
Because of weather conditions, Prodimex Group farms in the Kursk region began the 2026 sowing campaign up to 20 days late. On small areas a soil crust formed after heavy rains with strong gusty winds, and farmers had to re-sow sugar beet.
Cold weather with abundant precipitation and frequent temperature crossings of 0 °C also prevented timely sowing of early spring crops. Despite missing the agrotechnical deadlines, the Group’s agricultural enterprises in the region managed to complete sowing of early spring crops and sugar beet in a short time and to obtain uniform shoots of spring wheat, peas and oil flax.
Work is currently continuing on plant care, disease and pest control on winter wheat, and weed and pest control on spring wheat, flax, sugar beet and soybeans.
We wish farmers a successful agricultural season!
